Important School Information and Reminders!

?Parking Lot Procedures - Please DO NOT leave cars unattended in the pick up / drop off lane! Please work with school personnel and other parents to make the parking lot safe for our students! All parking lot rules are in the parent handbook and on our website.

?Before School Procedures - School begins at 8:00 a.m. Students should not be dropped off before 7:45 a.m. Students should line up outside classroom doors.

?After School Procedures - Students must wait by the fence for pick up. Students may not play on playground equipment after school. Students who walk or ride bikes must go directly home after school. Parents should directly supervise their children while they visit with other parents. This is not a new expectation, but we will be strict about enforcing this for the sake of our students' safety. Last year there were too many incidences of children getting hurt, into conflicts with other students, or staying at school too late and frightening parents who were expecting them at home. Parents are welcome to bring children to use the school grounds after 3:45 p.m.

BME Afterschool Programs

Afterschool Enrichment Programs are being offered by BME staff. Current programs being offered include: Lego Mania, Everything String Classes begin April 5th . Look for the flyer in your child's Thursday folder or see the front office for more information.

Important Parking Lot Safety Info

• Use only the lane closest to the curb to drop off or pick up students. The outside lane is for drive through ONLY.

• Pull as far forward as you can before loading and unloading - this means all the way to the end of the lane, not just before the cross walk.

• Be prepared to have your student exit or enter the car quickly and safely - on the curb side of the car.

• Please do not leave cars unattended in the drop off lane - if you must enter the school, park in the designated areas.

• Please do not try to "merge" into the drop off lane from the drive through lane - this has caused some very near misses this week, and it stops the flow of traffic.

• You may merge from the drop off to the drive through lane.

• Remind your children that they should be waiting by the fence for you. It is difficult to find students on the playground. We will also work with students on this.

• Please use the crosswalk to go from the sidewalk to your parked car. We want you to be safe and to set a good example for our students.

• Finally - please be patient and work with the school personnel on duty.
