Demographics

As of October 2017, Cheyenne Mountain School District has 5,220 students attending between pre-k and grade twelve.  Currently, 162 of these students are identified English Learner students receiving services. In our school district there is not one dominant language.  Rather, approximately twenty-eight different languages are spoken by our English Learners.

Languages spoken by EL students include NEP and LEP students in all the schools in Cheyenne Mountain School District: elementary, secondary and charter schools.  Low incidence languages include Akan, Arabic, Cebuano, Yue, Dari, German, Gujarati,Haitian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Karen, Khmer, Lithuanian, Malayalam, Nepali, Panjabi, Cameroon Pidgin, Russian, Samoan, Swedish, Tagalog, Thai, and Tigrigna.
