The Cheyenne Mountain School District is located in the southwest corner of beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. The District has a total enrollment of approximately 4,600 students in preschool through twelfth grade. There are a total of five elementary schools offering grades K-6, and one preschool. The District has one junior high school for grades 7-8, a high school for grades 9-12, and a charter school serving grades K-12.
Being at or near the top of all schools in Colorado and the Nation in academic achievement is the result of students who come to school ready to learn, strong parent and community participation and support, and outstanding teachers, administrators, and a board of education who are committed to providing an environment conducive to all aspects of learning. Over 85% of our graduates go on to college, many in the most prestigious colleges and universities in the nation.

    Amendment 73

The Cheyenne Mountain Board of Education has evaluated the potential impact of state-level initiative Amendment 73 on the District.  If Amendment 73 passes, District 12 would be the recipient of approximately $7.3 million in ongoing revenue each year.  In addition to  future priorities to be determined by the Board, targeted areas for these resources would include gifted and talented programs, early childhood education, full-day kindergarten, and special education services.

The District 12 Board of Education respects and encourages voters’ individual responsibility to become informed on state-level initiatives and vote accordingly.  Individual Board of Education members are more than willing to share their personal views on all state-level initiatives, and can be contacted at the individual email addresses listed at the top of this page.

Go to the Board of Education web page for more information from the Board on Amendment 73.

    The Cheyenne Mountain Indians Mascot

    Tradition Pride Culture Sportsmanship Respect

Different from common mascots like eagles, knights, tigers, or rams, the INDIANS mascot brings with it a responsibility to honor, respect, and celebrate Native Americans and their culture which we represent by taking the INDIANS name.

As students, staff members, boosters, fans, and community members, it is our responsibility to consistently model this honor and respect in support of Cheyenne Mountain High School.
