Family Involvement

Over fifty-five years of research indicate the importance of Families, Schools, and Communities Partnering (FSCP) for student learning. National data shows that students gain academically, as well as behaviorally, when families and school staff work together to support student success.

Cheyenne Mountain School District 12 is committed to helping parents of ELs stay informed about their student by:

  • Encouraging and providing access to interpreters for important school meetings

  • Providing how-to video links for Infinite Campus (IC)

  •  Sharing detailed EL Plans with parents and school staff

Parents of ELs are encouraged to be involved in the schools. They should contact their child’s ELD teacher, general education teacher, or the school’s front office to learn how to get involved. Opportunities include:

  • Volunteering in elementary-level classrooms

  • Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)

  • School Advisory and Accountability Committee (SAAC)

  • District Advisory and Accountability Committee (DAAC)
