Important note for elementary school assignment: Living within the attendance area of a specific District 12 Elementary School does not guarantee enrollment in a particular school. Due to Board of Education policy limiting elementary school class sizes, District 12 residents may be assigned to a District 12 elementary school other than their designated neighborhood school if a grade is at the maximum enrollment capacity established by the Board.

Important note for all high school student enrollments: As new students enroll at CMHS, our Counseling Staff is in need of all academic records to ensure each student is on track to graduate. This includes transcripts and other documents to ensure students can meet both Graduation Credits and Graduation Guidelines requirements:

  • TRANSCRIPTS: Transcripts are vital in navigating course placement. All high school credits are needed to fulfill graduation requirements. Please provide your student’s high school transcript, or final 8th grade report card for fall term incoming freshmen, when prompted during your Online Registration.

  • OTHER DOCUMENTS: Graduation Guidelines are demonstrations of mastery in English and math; Incoming juniors or seniors may have met Guidelines through SAT, ACT, or AP testing. Please provide any test scores, if applicable for your student, when prompted to provide transcripts during your Online Registration.

Parents/Guardians who have additional questions about enrollment are welcome to contact the District Office at 719-475-6100.

Getting To and From School

Decades ago, the Cheyenne Mountain Board of Education made a commitment to invest the vast majority of its budget in our schools and in student programs. This investment in our schools results in fewer resources for support services. As a result, the Cheyenne Mountain School District does not operate a bus system and does not provide student transportation to and from school. The District will arrange transportation for students whose disability requires such transportation in accordance with federal law and/or an individual student's Individual Education Program. If you have questions regarding your child's eligibility under these guidelines, please call the Office of Student Services at 719-327-2823.
