About Us

The Cheyenne Mountain School District technology department supports the mission of our district by providing technology-related services, professional development and support for our students, teachers, and staff in an environment where technology integration increases each day.

Our department is composed of two divisions: technology support and technology integration. Technology support personnel provide and maintain technology infrastructure, software, and hardware, while our technology integration staff works more directly with teachers and students to improve and enhance instruction in the classroom through the use of technology. In a time when technology can sometimes dominate our lives, we are very mindful of the fact that some lessons in the classroom are more effective WITHOUT the use of technology. Sometimes paper and pencil is the most effective tool for learning!

Technology in the Classroom

Each student in our district in grades K-8 is assigned a school-owned chromebook to use at times in the classroom each day. At our high school, students have the option of bringing their own laptop to school each day or being assigned a school-owned chromebook for use in and out of the classroom.

Our Digital Learning Tools

We are a Google Workspace for Education district meaning that we use many Google applications for both business and classroom use including Google Classroom, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Sites, Hangouts, Drive and more.

Questions?

Approved and Blocked Sites/Apps

Below is a list of approved and blocked apps vetted by the technology department. All approved apps are in compliance with student privacy policies. Some services may require accounts that can be created by teachers or by students with direction from staff. Some sites/apps may use click-through agreements such as logging in with a school Google account. A student's parent/guardian has the option to opt out of any of these services. If parents choose to opt out of these services, they must notify their child's principal via email or in writing.

App/Site Request

Teachers employed by Cheyenne Mountain School District may request for an online platform's student privacy policy to be evaluated by the technology department by clicking the link below.

Affordable Connectivity Program

High-speed home Internet allows Americans to work remotely, send their children to school, participate in the social safety net, and access healthcare, job training, and critical government services. The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a federal benefit that aims to connect these individuals by providing eligible households with a discount of $30/ month toward their home Internet bill or $75/month for households on Tribal lands. In addition, the benefit provides a one-time $100 discount toward a connected device through a participating provider.

NEED HELP GETTING STARTED?

Visit GetACP.org to learn if you qualify, what documents you’ll need to apply, and how to connect to home internet plans that are free with ACP. Answer a few simple questions, and we’ll give you a personalized checklist that saves you time when you apply. It takes about 5 minutes.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Content and templates within the CMSD12.org domain are published with a commitment to providing information that's accessible to individuals with visual, hearing or cognitive disabilities. Our objective is to fulfill our commitment by following ADA standards and best practices for website accessibility.

Efforts by our technology team to ensure the Cheyenne Mountain School District complies with the latest standards and best practices are routinely made in good faith. Content and templates are periodically evaluated using third-party software available from The Center for Persons with Disabilities at Utah State University.

Because we encourage teachers, administrators, staff, and others to update and change their web-based content regularly in order to provide timely and accurate communication, accessibility issues will inevitably arise. So, if you are unable to access any page within the CMSD12.org domain, we ask that you report the trouble by emailing help@cmsd12.org or calling the District 12 Administration office at 719-475-6100.
