Wow! Skyway 5th grader, Eleanor Edwards, is the winner of the K-6th grade University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) - Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) Student Spaceflight Experiment Program (SSEP) Mission 19 Mission Patch Contest! Eleanor's patch will fly to the International Space Station (ISS) on SSEP Mission 19! Mission 19 is scheduled for flight this next year. After their flight onboard the ISS, they will be returned to Earth with a certificate of spaceflight. Wow! We are proud of you, Eleanor! A huge "Thank you!" to 5th grade teacher, Jami Seabolt, for involving our Skyway Comets in this competition!

Today at Gold Camp Elementary we had another special presentation, focusing on volunteerism in our community with guest speakers and their dogs from the Go Team therapy dogs. Students learned about the group's mission and why they like to volunteer.

At GCE today, we hosted two organizations who could talk to our students about their volunteer efforts as part of our Kindness Campaign. Canine Companion and the Guide Dogs for the Blind presented their missions and how their volunteers raise puppies to be service dogs.
